A set of complementary actions and tools for awareness-raising and information : - a newsletter, the "RiverAin", - a library open to the public, - a roving exhibition, - events for schools, - outings for the "general public", - clean-up operations on the banks of the Ain, - a natural heritage guide, - a river festival in 2006. A « RiverAin » newsletter - 5 issues of the "RiverAin" [see] A library open to the public Almost a thousand items are available at the SBVA (Lower Ain Valley association): studies carried out on the site, technical and teaching documentation, access to the Association's scientific data bases [please contact us]
Enriched with each of the different events to which the LIFE programme contributes, the roving exhibition includes different communication tools which are placed at the disposal of the public, listed in the following document: Download the list of information boards available [please contact us] Here are some examples: Events for schools
More : - ONF - FRAPNA Outings for the general public The River Ain and its brotteaux (marshy flood plains): a passion to share!
Discover the dry grasslands and their orchids in flower, the lônes, wet zones which teem with plant and animal life, the damp forests, the vorgines (the transitional areas between the forest and gravel banks) and the hundred-year old trees, understand the life of the river and its gravel banks, at the same time observe the species that give it its reputation, … then take the time to chat and share impressions over a drink: such was the programme for these visits. This event was the subject of a report in the audio-visual leisure magazine (DVD) dedicated to the Ain country, "Rivages", on sale at the Association in particular (retail price: 14.00 € tax incl). Clean-up operations on the banks of the Ain Organised on 12 April 2003 and 27 March 2004, each of these operations attracted about 600 volunteers, who picked up 18 tonnes of rubbish. A natural heritage guide to the Rhône-Alpes region This is one in a collection of regional guides produced and distributed by the CREN (Rhône-Alpes natural spaces conservation body). Named « les brotteaux de la rivière d’Ain », it is available [please contact us] The River festival The River Festival was the high point of the awareness-raising campaign with the public. More than 4,000 people took part in the festival, which mobilised almost 300 volunteers. About fifty events and activities were on offer: stalls, games, exhibitions, visits, talks, concerts, fireworks… spread over the week. This was a large-scale event, which was well reported in the media and which allowed us to communicate widely on the stakes and results of the LIFE programme. Three extra discovery trails In spring 2006, the Anthon, Blyes and Châtillon la Palud sites will be equipped eco-discovery trails, which will enable walkers to make a stop first at Anthon to view the colourful panorama offered by the Ain-Rhône confluence. At Blyes they will have a chance to plunge into the natural environments – alluvial forest, dry grasslands and lônes – and then, finally, at Châtillon la Palud, to discover the history of the relationship between man and the river. |
